Becky’s Utterly Divine Macaroni and Cheese

I confessed to my husband that it’s hard to be humble about this one. LOL. I mean… copious amounts of ooey-gooey creamy luxury, with large chunks of freshly fried bacon, topped with crunchy parmesan and crispy french fried onions. It’ll make your taste buds dance!

Ingredients

  • 2 Boxes Shells & Cheese
  • 1 Pound Bacon
  • 4 Cups Milk
  • 4 Cups Mild Shredded Cheddar
  • 5 Tbsp Butter
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Pepper
  • 4 TBSP Flour
  • Parmesan
  • 1 Bag French Fried Onions

Instructions

  • Boil the pasta. Set the cheese packets aside. While pasta is cooking, fry the bacon.
  • Strain the pasta. (You'll rinse later! It's best to wait until just before you mix the sauce and pasta together, because they have a tendency to clump, and you may need to "unclump" them.)
  • In a pot, add the butter, milk, shredded cheese, the sauce packets from the shells and cheese, salt and pepper. Mix over heat until everything is melted.
  • Whisk while you sprinkle the flour in slowly (to avoid clumps). Stir constantly until the sauce reaches a full boil, then remove from heat.
  • Pour freshly rinsed/unclumped pasta and the sauce into a large casserole dish. Tear up the bacon you've cooked in large chunks and throw it in. Mix it all together.
  • Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese.
  • Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, or until the parmesan cheese is golden brown.
  • Add a generous layer of French Fried Onions before serving.
  • Eat and ascend to glorious heights 🙂
